Athletes participating in track and field events organised by clubs affiliated to the Norwegian Athletics Federation are required to hold a race licence. A race licence can be obtained by purchasing an annual licence or day licence.
All participants in track and field events must obtain an annual licence or day licence from the year they turn 13. The race licence requirement does not apply to track and field events where participants are representing their school, ref. Norwegian Athletics Federation's Act §20.2. Results obtained without a race licence will be delisted at year-end without further justification, and thus deleted from official statistics.
Race organisers using the event management system in iSonen do not need to check race licences manually, as the system performs an automatic licence check.
Race organisers using other event management systems are responsible for conducting a licence check on all the participants attending their event.
